Apply a heat protectant or styling product designed for short hair if desired. For creating volume at the roots of very short hair, place the brush underneath a small section of hair at the scalp and lift upwards while directing the airflow from the hairdryer at the roots. Hold for a few seconds to set the volume. To create tight curls or waves in short hair, take a small section of hair and wrap it tightly around the 2″ barrel of the brush. Direct the heat from the hairdryer onto the wrapped hair. Hold briefly, then gently unwrap the hair.
